Emergency Lights

Emergency lights come in many "flavors" and are useful in a wide range of locations. Keep them in your car, purse or pocket, and briefcase, and use them at home and in the office. Not only are they useful for emergencies, but for power outages and when it's dark and you need light.

Emergencies are something that most people do not prepare for. This can be an omission in planning that can cause you a great deal of effort and frustration, or even your life. One thing that most people don't think about in their emergency planning is emergency lights. The wide variety of emergency lights that are available can help you make it through an emergency with more comfort. What types of emergency lights should you consider purchasing to keep you and your family safe and comfortable?

  • Car emergency lights
Emergency lights can get you assistance and attention. By displaying an emergency light in your back window, you may be able to flag down a police officer or another person that can give you assistance. A car emergency light also helps other vehicles see you and avoid hitting you. Emergency lights come in many different styles with different colored lenses and configurations for just those purposes. Multi-purpose emergency lights may even include a flashlight, and even siren. This can come in handy if you need to change a tire, check an engine, etc.

  • Home emergency lights
Emergency lights are available for your home that comes on in case of electricity outage or if the fire alarm goes off. These lights can be easily installed with the included instructions. They feature a lead cadmium battery that gives you light for up to 90 minutes; they come in a variety of styles from plug-in flashlight looking devices to less obtrusive square or round shapes. This is a great safety feature to add to any home.

Automatic emergency lights are wonderful because they help light the way through your dark house, and if you need to evacuate you have an effective flashlight so you can see your way to safety too. Choose from hard-wired, which aren't portable of course, or plug-in. I have used plug-in emergency lights in my home since 1987. Fortunately I haven't needed them for emergencies, but they've been comforting during power outages, which I've experienced lots.

Another emergency light you will want to be sure that you have at all times is a flashlight. Whether you choose a rechargeable one or one that is powered by batteries, you want to be sure that it is ready to go when you need it. LED flashlights produce a bright light and don't use as much electricity, meaning your batteries will last longer.

  • Business emergency lights
If you own a business, you are not only responsible for taking care of yourself, but also for your employees and clients, customers or guests. Having emergency lights, including exit signs, in your business can help you keep your customers and employees safe in case of fire or other emergencies. This is your responsibility and, in most cities, it is a law.

Emergency lights are an essential way to help keep yourself and your family safe and comfortable. Light can also add a sense of calm to situations. Installing and keeping them in your home, car, and business can prepare you prepared for many types of emergencies no matter how minor or major. This can give you more control over the situation and can help you to remain calm to make it through the emergency as quickly and easily as possible.

Do your part in being safe or comfortable and get emergency lights. What a simple solution.
